My performing goal is to provide both sound and spirit to match the event and
group for which I am playing. I usually consult with clients to find their choices of songs and
styles - the more you recommend, the better I can satisfy the ears of your friends and the
emotional moods you want, whether romantic, uproarious, or just pretty background music.

Duo and Trio - the most common format chosen by my clients or employers.
Since I play 'split keyboard', I can provide both bass and piano parts, giving you a full sound  with a small group (check out my duo tracks with Bob Antolin on this page - 'Black Orpheus',
'Seattle Blues', 'Here, There and Everywhere', 'All the Things You Are'). For events which
include some dancing, or if you just want more drive from the bandstand, I recommend
adding a drummer to make a trio (our most common restaurant format).

Combos - If your event calls for a larger group, I can provide a quartet,
quintet, or sextet (adding a guitar, another horn, and/or a second percussionist). For
examples of my live combo sound, check out the 'Watermelon Man' and 'In a Sentimental
Mood' clips on this page.

As a sideman - I have worked as a sideman in bands ranging from
swing to smooth jazz. Artists I have worked with in Seattle include the Portage Bay Big Band,
John Kroeger's Fairly Honest Jazz Band, Ray Baldwin, Julie Dee, The Poindexter Jazz Quartet, Buckshot Jazz,
and Brad Benefield. Sight reading, soloing, and helping establish a strong groove are my specialties.
