To whom it may concern:

Our son, Paul Heller, now a sophomore at Bishop Blanchet High School, and a member of that school's orchestra and jazz band, has taken private music lessons from Lee for the last five years. We have found Lee to be an outstanding music teacher and mentor, and under his guidance Paul has become an excellent piano player; has learned an

incredible amount of music theory; and, perhaps even more importantly, has developed a deeper appreciation for music in general. We attribute this, in large measure, to the fact that Lee has a special talent for making music lessons pleasurable for his students.  This quickly became apparent to us, not only in the private lesson setting, but in Lee's bi-annual recitals, which his students enjoy because Lee has a knack for making them

so much fun.

Lee has also served as Paul's accompanist at juried performances for Paul's other instruments, clarinet and saxophone.  We are aware that Lee has had many long-term students, somer of whom, as has been the case with Paul, havge taken lessons from a young age through High School and beyond. We have seen these students flourish under Lee's guidance, just as Paul has. We therefore wholly recommend Lee as a piano teacher and a piano accompanist. Lastly, we have had the pleasure of hearing Lee play publicly with his band in a variety of venues, and his music  has always been very well received.  We also therefore commend Lee for providing musical entertainment a private gatherings and events.

Our family highly recommends Lee.  He taught two of our sons piano and composition for more than ten years.  Both successfully auditioned for their high school's jazz band and continued to play jazz, rock, and classical piano in college.  Our older son minored in music, composed the alma mater for his graduating university class, and continues to enjoy playing and composing.  Both benefited greatly from Lee's background as a jazz performer and composer, and took away a strong knowledge and appreciation for music theory and composition.

Lee has a unique, positive, and nurturing teaching style that allows kids to pursue their natural interests and talents through all music genres.  Even his recitals are fun!   If your goal for your child is to foster a lifelong joy and appreciation for music, then Lee is the teacher for you.

I started jazz piano lessons with Lee about 8 months ago. I had classical piano lessons for 12 years, but that was 35 years ago! It wasn't easy to decide how much I knew and how much I'd forgotten or had not been taught. Lee was quickly able to figure out my piano knowledge, and to present a course of study ideally situated to me. I'm learning alot in a very short time, and enjoying playing with a jazz beat. Lee is extremely knowledgable about the technical side of playing, and also is an exceptional performance pianist on not only jazz pieces, but classical and gospal as well.
